Hawk tuah girl cryptocurrency lawsuit
In the lawsuit filed Thursday against the $HAWK creators in New York District Court, investors accused overHere Ltd, its founder Clinton So, social media influencer Alez Larson Schultz and the Tuah The Moon Foundation of fraudulently selling Welch’s celebrity memecoin, per Hollywood Reporter.
Welch then provided a link to a form that affected investors can fill out on the website of cryptocurrency litigator Burwick Law, the firm that is representing the plaintiffs suing the creators of $HAWK.
The call came to an abrupt end when Welch interrupted to say that she was going to bed, a sign-off that quickly became part of her meme lore, in part because she then vanished from public view. No new episodes of Talk Tuah were released, and Welch’s social media accounts went dark. Crypto traders enthusiastically speculated that Welch could be in serious legal trouble, joking that she would go straight “tuah” jail, or at the very least “talk tuah” judge. At least one investor filed a complaint with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Welch has touted the launch of “HAWK,” promoting it in several posts across X this week. In an interview with Fortune, she said she used to think of crypto as “just a scam” and an “easy way for you to lose money.” However, she said she began seeing it as a “good way to interact with fans” after attending several cryptocurrency conferences.
“I hate to say this, but it was a much-needed mental health—just…what do you call it? A mental health break, I guess, is what you can call it,” she told Vanity Fair. “I would see my friends. I would go out and eat. That’s really about it. I don’t ever get out and do much when I’m home. I like being by myself.”
Influencer Haliey Welch, who shot to internet stardom this year thanks to a particularly viral interview clip, is pushing back on accusations that “HAWK,” the cryptocurrency she helped launch this week, is a scam after its price plummeted. Welch said on X that she and the people behind the coin have not sold any of their holdings.

As explained by Yuriy Brisov, a partner at Digital and Analogue Partners law firm, Welch could face charges of security fraud from the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and also money laundering or wire fraud from the Department of Justice (DOJ).
